Alex Thorpe speaks at the ESG Edge Property Week Conference on Tenant Engagement in Sustainability Practices
"Achieving net zero is a complex, evolving challenge, but every step forward is valuable."
At the recent Property Week ESG EDGE Property Week Conference, CO-RE Associate Director Alex Thorpe spoke on Tenant Engagement in Sustainability Practices alongside Conor Storkey , Director of Sustainability for Brookfield Properties, Sarah Yarmohammadi, Program Director at Action for Market Transformation and Oliver Hall, Chair of the British Council for Offices (BCO) NextGen Committee. Alex shared her key takeaways from the discussion:
- As there are so many challenges in achieving net zero, it's important to celebrate the small wins along the way, instead of waiting for perfection.
- Net zero is a goal that can’t be achieved in isolation. Success requires collective action and open communication across organizations and sectors. Collaboration will allow us to make strides beyond the impact of individual buildings or projects.
- Raising the bar elevates the minimum standard for sustainability, but it’s important to be mindful of creating an inclusive pathway. Let’s inspire and empower everyone, from top performers to those just starting, ensuring that striving for higher standards remains motivating and achievable for all.
Thank you to Property Week for hosting a thought-provoking and engaging conference. We look forward to the next.
