Green Light on the Low Carbon Redevelopment of 21 Lombard Street

The low carbon redevelopment of 21 Lombard Street has been approved by the City of London, which will transform the 11-storey building into a modern, sustainable workspace, whilst retaining over 70% of the existing structure.

Owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge and designed by Woods Bagot, the mixed-use scheme due to be completed in 2028. Situated near Bank station, the updated building will offer:

  • 135,000 sq ft of office space, over 11 floors
  • An extension will provide several roof terraces with extensive planting and views of the City
  • Premium end-of-trip facilities and cycle parking
  • The highest sustainable standards including BREEAM Outstanding, net zero operational carbon, a WELL Gold building certification, a 5* Nabers rating, and a ‘Platinum’ WIRED certification
  • In line with the City of London’s “Destination City” ambitions, the scheme will provide an improved public realm

Alexandra Thorpe, Associate Director at CO—RE, said: “21 Lombard Street aspires to be a modern office building for all, that embodies high-quality architecture, high standards of environmental and carbon credentials, and places high importance on the health and wellbeing of its occupiers.”
